Timothy J. Clow

Tim Clow is one of the founding shareholders and practices in the real estate, finance, and banking law areas of the Firm. Mr. Clow has a wide range of experience representing clients in the acquisition, development, operation, and divestiture of private, semi-private and public golf clubs and country clubs, as well as hotels and resort.


Mr. Clow’s primary focus is representing parties acquiring and developing golf clubs, country clubs and resorts. This representation includes the due diligence required in the initial stages of an acquisition program as well as the negotiation and drafting of the acquisition documents, and membership plans. The acquisition of member-owned clubs and the conversion of such clubs into nonequity plans has also been one of Mr. Clow’s target areas.


Mr. Clow’s experience in the operation of clubs, resorts and recreational facilities includes specialized knowledge in the areas of finance, development agreements, leases, easements, rights-of-way, construction contracts and property owner associations. He has also represented secured and unsecured creditors in numerous bankruptcy proceedings.


In addition to Mr. Clow’s experience in the club and resort industry, he has also represented various financial institutions in the negotiation and documentation of loan transactions, as well as the workout of troubled lending transactions, which includes foreclosure experience.


Mr. Clow earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Oklahoma Bar Association, and is licensed to practice in the Northern and Western Districts in Texas, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States Tax Court.
